We know you’re just curious as we are, so let’s take a look at how these showbiz babies have evolved through the years!
9 Celebrity Kids Who Grew Up in the Spotlight, and What They're Up to Now:
As the daughter of actress Marjorie Barretto and actor and comedian Dennis Padilla, the ins-and-outs of showbiz is something quite familiar to Claudia. Growing up through the years, she has graced several magazine covers, commercials, and endorsements—some of which she did with her older sister Julia. Though she comes from a star-studded family, the young Barretto is now shaping her own course through the local scene.
At the tender age of twenty-two, Claudia has already acquired quite a number of impressive titles to her belt: content creator, business owner, podcast host, mental health advocate, and singer-songwriter! Is there anything she can’t do? Alongside her many ventures and passion projects, Claudia is currently a psychology student at Ateneo De Manila University, and according to a recent post from her mother, she’s due to graduate this year!
Another celebrity child making her way through the scene is Juliana Gomez, who is actually a friend and former schoolmate of Claudia! Back when she was younger, you might have seen Juliana appear in a handful of commercials with her parents, Richard Gomez and Lucy Torres. She has even modeled for brands like Bench and Omega! Julia’s talents aren’t just limited to the small screen, though. FYI, she’s a fencer, who’s made her mark by winning third place last year in the 2021 Philippine Fencing Association and Southeast Asian Qualifying Games.
Alongside her athletic capabilities, Juliana is the epitome of beauty and brains as she is currently pursuing a degree in Public Administration at University of the Philippines Diliman. Though showbiz runs in her blood, in an interview with GMA last year, she mentioned that if she were to have a place in the entertainment industry, she’d prefer to stay behind the camera.
Cassy and Mavy Legaspi
Who could forget the fun and playful commercials of Cassy and Mavy Legaspi? Often joined by their parents, Zoren Legaspi and Carmina Villaroel, the twins are familiar to us all since they grew up under the public eye. The duo officially joined their parents in showbiz last 2018 when they signed a contract with GMA Network. Since then, they’ve established their names in the industry with their own acting merits! Cassy has starred in teleseryes like First Yaya (2021) and First Lady (2022). Meanwhile, Mavy was part of the main cast of I Left My Heart in Sorsogon (2021-2022), a teleserye starring Heart Evangelista.
Atasha and Andres Muhlach
Atasha and Andres Muhlach, the children of showbiz couple Aga Muhlach and Charlene Gonzales, grabbed the attention of locals when they appeared in a heartwarming Jollibee commercial back in 2006! While they starred alongside their talented parents, the two totally owned the spotlight with their adorable acting skills! Growing up, the twins have also acquired quite a hand for many things. As per Pep, Atasha has dabbled in theater, painting, and sports, while Andres actively developed his athletic talents. In recent years, the duo have appeared in other endorsements such as their photos for local fashion brand Bench. Fast forward to now, the twins are all grown up, studying college in Europe—Atasha in the UK, and Andres in Spain.
Besides the fact that she’s the second daughter of actress Maricel Laxa and Anthony Pangilinan, as well as the sister of heartthrob Donny Pangilinan, Hannah Pangilinan has long been owning the scene since she was a child as a champion gymnast. But she truly carved her own path in the industry when she started her Youtube channel named “Hannah Kathleen” back in 2016. As of writing, she has already garnered more than 500,000 subscribers. Here, she provides viewers with all sorts of content, from sincere life lessons to honest glimpses into her life. Through her channel, she’s even shared her time as an international student in Australia, where she took a year-long course in Film and Television at Hillsong College. While she continues to make a name for herself on social media, Hannah’s also a singer-songwriter and podcast host. This young Pangilinan’s truly brimming with talent!
Hailing once again from the Pangilinan clan is another young woman to watch out for! As the daughter of megastar Sharon Cuneta and Senator Kiko Pangilinan, Frankie grew up in the limelight. Who could forget her sweet and heartwarming Mcdonald’s commercial with her mother when she was younger? Now twenty-one, Frankie has become sharper and wiser. While she bravely shares her thoughts on socio-political issues, she also unveils her introspective side whether through her writing, her musical hits, or a podcast with her sister Miel, titled Y2K with Yellie and Kakie Pangilinan.
Just like her parents, actress Sunshine Cruz and actor Cesar Montano, Angelina Cruz was absolutely destined for the screen! She caught the local audience's interest when she did a Coffee-Mate TV commercial with her father. From there, Angelina built her name in the entertainment industry, from gracing several endorsements to establishing her musical career as a singer. Recently, she even appeared in Donny Pangilinan and Belle Mariano’s film, Love Is Color Blind (2022). But amidst her bustling career on screen, Angelina still manages to successfully juggle it with school as she pursues her college education in De La Salle University, taking up a degree in Marketing Management.
