The rumors are rumors no more! Liza Soberano is officially set to play Darna, as confirmed by ABS-CBN.
In an interview with ABS-CBN, the 19-year-old announced that she has indeed accepted the role to play the Philippines' most iconic female hero. "Yes, it is confirmed," she tells reporter MJ Felipe.
Prior to Liza, Angel Locsin was slated to star in the Star Cinema film reboot of Darna but she had to decline the role given her medical conditions. Actresses who previously portrayed the much-coveted role include Vilma Santos, Marian Rivera, and Sharon Cuneta.
