Delicadeza, the Spanish word that implies refinement, beauty, politesse, and elegance, is the intangible quality typically associated with the dalagang Pilipina. Now, turn that trait into a dress and you would have yourself a proper Terno.
Paying tribute to the Philippine traditional dress, Bench launches a new coffee table book entitled Fashionable Filipinas: An Evolution of the Philippine National Dress in Photographs, 1860-1960. It chronicles the Terno’s evolution with over 200 vintage photographs, beginning its journey from the time of the Spaniard’s arrival.
Gretchen Barretto, Lucy Torres-Gomez, Liz Uy, Solenn Heussaff, and Isabelle Daza, dressed in their own unique versions of the Terno, were among the guests who flocked to the Manila Peninsula last night at the official book launch. Scroll down to see all the stylish attendees of the evening.
