Get ready to watch another favorite fairy tale come to life! Hans Christian Andersen's Little Mermaid is the latest tale to get the live action treatment. However, the film won't be produced by Walt Disney so expect it to tread more closely to the 1837 classic story than its animated feature film.
The Little Mermaid follows Elle, a young girl played by Loreto Peralta, and her brother, Cam Harrison, a reporter played by The Chronicles of Narnia's William Moseley. Together they travel to Mississippi where a real live mermaid (played by Downton Abbey's Poppy Drayton) is held captive in a local circus.
The cast is completed by Gina Gershon, Shirley MacLaine, William Forysthe, Diahann Carroll, and is directed by Chris Bouchard.
