In her exclusive interview with the magazine, Ho Jung revealed that she pursued this certain career path after seeing Korean supermodel Jang Yoon Ju on an episode of the variety show Infinite Challenge.
3. She’s appeared in several music videos.
Ho Jung’s modeling career didn’t just find her on the runway or the glossy pages of a magazine. Prior to her acting debut, she was also cast in a number of music videos for known Korean artists. The list includes K.Will’s You Don’t Know Love, BigBang’s Let’s Not Fall in Love, and Zico’s I am You, You are Me.
4. She made her acting debut in 2016.
Ho Jung debuted with a minor role in the 2016 historical drama Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo. She portrayed Ae-ra, IU’s friend who soon betrays her. 7. She once shaved off her hair for a movie role.
In 2019, Ho Jung featured as a supporting character in the award-winning Korean action-war film The Battle of Jangsari. The actress shaved off her long locks for the role in order to accurately portray the image of a student soldier named Moon Jong-nyeo. Cutting off all her hair didn’t come easy for Ho Jung, who documented the entire experience in a YouTube vlog. “I didn’t cry at that time. After the haircut, I never cried. I was just angry,” she shared while watching the clips. “When I looked at the mirror, I couldn’t get used to my appearance, which drove me crazy.” She also mentioned that she had to sport a wig for awhile after the haircut since she couldn’t publicly show her new ‘do until the movie came out.
Fun fact: Ho Jung joined Hollywood actress Megan Fox as the only two females in the main cast for The Battle of Jangsari.
