Prenup photos not only commemorate your joyous engagement, they also offer your friends and family a more intimate insight to your personalities. Whether it’s a high-octane production or a low-key and mellow one, there's no one right way to do it as all relationships are different. What’s important is you choose a concept that not only excites you, but also makes you feel comfortable and is still uniquely you. And yes, you can still have the Pinterest-worthy prenup photos of your dreams even if you're camera shy.
One such inspiration you can glean from are newlyweds Lea and Patrick Benitez’s candid and effortless prenup shoot.
“We wanted to make it casual, simple and raw. As real as possible. We wanted the photos to reflect our personality,” Lea tells Preview.
Shot by Erron Ocampo and Paolo Nierves of Metro Photo, the outcome was wistful, dreamy, and romantic. Straightforward as the concept was, each frame reverberated with so much emotion, much like a movie still. In fact, Lea shares that they particularly liked the puddle shot “because it resembles one of our favourite movies which is Your Name”.
Not only are the images visually stunning, they were also able to evoke the couple’s epic love story.
Having first met at an event in 2017 when Lea was a bridesmaid and Patrick was the videographer, they only got to know each other a year after when he sent her a follow request on Instagram. “He then replied to my IG story and asked where I was because it was a snow story. I was in Canada studying that time and since then we never stopped chatting,” Lea shares.
A few months later, Patrick flew to the Land of Maple Leaf to surprise her, and that’s when they officially became a couple. What followed was a three-year long distance relationship where they went back and forth between the two countries. “It was very challenging but our love still grew stronger,” she quips. They got happily engaged in January 2021 and tied the knot last November.
Congratulations, Lea and Patrick!
