The former Ateneo courtside reporter and TV personality Laura Lehmann was officially proclaimed as this year's Miss World Philippines. She bested 34 other candidates last Sunday at the SM Mall of Asia arena.
Miss World Philippines 2016 Catriona Gray crowned Laura alongside Miss World 2016 Stephanie de Valle who were both in town for the pageant night.
Laura also bagged multiple awards including Miss Cosmo Skin, Miss BYS, and the Multimedia Fast Track Award.
Laura was joined by Winwyn Marquez, who was crowned as the Reina Hispanoamericana Filipinas and will represent the country in Reina Hispanoamericana in Bolivia.
Meanwhile, Cynthia Thomalla took the title of Miss Eco Philippines, Sophia Senoron won Miss Multinational Philippines, and Glyssa Leian Perez and Zara Carbonell emerged as this year's first and second runners-up, respectively.
Laura will represent the country in the Miss World pageant in Sanya, China on November 18.
Prior to her success at the Miss World Philippines pageant, Laura almost took the 2014 Binibining Pilipinas crown and finished as the first runner-up. She was also a courtside reporter for UAAP Seasons 77 and 78, and a host for ABS-CBN Sports Channel.
