Aside from their catchy tunes and obsession-worthy visuals, we look up to K-pop idols for their impeccable sense of style. While her debut is still hot off the press, we have a feeling we'll be bookmarking a lot of half-Filipina star Chanty Videla's looks soon. ICYMI, the 19-year-old is part of MLD Entertainment's newest girl group, Lapillus, and you can stream their first single, Hit Ya!, right now!
When she isn't on stage in one of her glitzy performance outfits, Chanty's revealed that her style is more on the low-key side. In a media conference, she shared that her "personal fashion style is more [of] the neutral type of vibe. I just like casual clothes and still be modest, but still be able to look fashionable."
That said, the Gen Z star is well aware that people regard K-pop idols not only as entertainers, but also as style pegs. When asked about who she admires when it comes to dressing up, she mentioned no one else but Heart Evangelista. She says that, "with fashion inspirations, recently I've been looking up to Ms. Heart Evangelista a lot. Being a K-pop star, people look up to K-pop fashion, too. So like, I kind of wanted to explore more and see...if I can bring in [a] mix of other fashion styles, so I look up to her for that."
On the other hand, when asked about who she idolizes when it comes to being a performer, Chanty listed some of OPM's most powerful voices. "Since I've been in Star Magic, I was able to witness some ASAP performances," she narrates, "and I've looked up to sir Gary Valenciano, he's a very energetic performer, and as someone who's in K-pop, that's exactly what I need. As well as Ms. Regine Velasquez, [she's] like one of the the legendary singers, so I look up to her a lot."
Well, to say that we're proud of you already is an understatement, Chanty! We can't wait to see your career flourish!
