Lakam Chiu Has Just Been Arrested Over Alleged Theft of Almost P45-Million

Last December 2025, Kim Chiu made the headlines when she came forward and filed a qualified theft complaint against her sister Lakam Chiu before the Office of the City Prosecutor of Quezon City.

On September 20, 2026, Lakam was arrested in Mandaluyong City, over 124 counts of qualified theft that amounted to an alleged total of P44,396,331.65.

Lakam's arrest follows the issuance by the Office of the City Prosecutor of Quezon City of a resolution that found sufficient basis to charge her with the filed theft involving the alleged total amount of money.

Her case involves both withdrawals and online transfers from corporate bank accounts of House of Little Bunny Philippines Inc., which is a company owned by the Chiu sisters. According to the findings of the prosecutor, the alleged involved funds came from the sales and revenues intended for legitimate corporate expenses. 

While waiting for the court's commitment order, Lakam is reportedly being held at a custodial facility. In addition, the court set a bail of P5.838-Million for her temporary liberty. 

As of writing, Kim has not made a comment on the arrest.
