Before the year ends, Netflix has one last highly anticipated Korean drama in store for us. And guess what? It’s a remake of the popular Chinese drama A Love So Beautiful! Known as a beloved feel-good coming-of-age show, the series captures the intriguing relationship among three high school friends: the bright and bubbly Shin Sol-yi, the cold-hearted heartthrob Cha Heon, and the talented Woo Dae-sung.

The Cast
Chinese actors Hu Yi Tian and Shen Yue’s outstanding portrayals of the story’s leading characters in the original adaptation of the novel by Zhao Qian Qian got us weak in the knees. However, with So Ju Yeon (Dr. Romantic 2) and K-pop boy group WEi’s Kim Yo Han joining the cast, it looks like the Korean version is already proving to be a promising remake. Apart from our two main leads, joining the rest of the cast are Yeo Hoe Hyun (Leverage), Jo Hye Joo (Just One Bite, Search: WWW), and Jung Jun Hwan (Govengers).
The Plot
Kim Yo Han will play the male lead, Cha Heon, who possesses a cold and awkward yet warm-hearted character. To put it simply, he’s got it all, boasting of both exceptional visuals and outstanding brains! On the other hand, Ju Yeon will portray the bright and bubbly character of Sol-yi, who clearly has a big crush on Cha Heon. Thanks to her clumsy but adorable character, she is loved by all including her friends, her parents, and even a few secret admirers!
Meanwhile, Yeo Hoe Hyun is set to play the character of a transfer student and talented swimmer Woo Dae-sung, who unconsciously falls in love with Sol-yi. Though he's unsure of how he must show her his true feelings and intentions, he remains by her side no matter what.
Will an endearing romance develop between Cha Heon and Sol-yi? Or will Dae Sung stand a chance to steal her heart? The fascinating feud between this love triangle may or may not just give you flashbacks to your own high school days, and maybe even your first love!
The Release Date
A Love So Beautiful is broken down into 24 episodes, with 20 minutes each. The well-awaited first episode is set to to air on both Netflix and Kakao TV this December 28, 2020!
