We’re calling it: Meow, The Secret Boy is the next K-drama you need to marathon, stat! Currently streaming on Viu, it tells the story of a woman in her mid-20s who happened to take home a cat with the ability to transform into a human being. It's a sweet and hearwarming love story that's guaranteed to put a smile on your face. And the best part? It stars Kim Myung Soo, a.k.a. L from K-pop boy band Infinite!
The idol-slash-actor visited Manila earlier this year for a much-anticipated fan meeting with his Philippine fans. During which, he talked about Meow: The Secret Boy and why it’s an absolute must-watch! “If you love romance, then this is the perfect drama for you,” he said in Sparkling Magazine's Spring 2020 issue. “Currently I’m working with Shin Ye Eun, my partner for [the] drama. I want to make a really good chemistry with her so we can present a good drama.”
Being a cat lover himself (he has a pet cat named Byeol, FYI!), Myung Soo talked about his new character with so much passion. “This character is a cat that turns into human. He’s very innocent, very child-like, and the way he looks at his on-screen partner, it’s like he always longs to protect her, to be with her—he just wants to be there for her all the time. It’s gonna make you want to raise a cat like Hong-Jo,” he explained, referring to his character’s name in the K-drama.
Myung Soo, who previously starred in Angel's Last Mission: Love (2019), Ms. Hammurabi (2018), and The Emperor: Owner of the Mask (2017), played fun games with his fans and serenaded them with a couple of songs during the fan meet. Before wrapping up the event, he expressed his love and thanks for his PH supporters and promised to be back soon. “I didn’t notice the time pass by because it was very fun for me. I want to thank you all for making me feel so loved! I would love to be back here in the Philippines with Infinite. I hope you guys would wait for us!”
Kim Myung Soo stars in Sparkling Magazine Spring 2020 issue’s flip cover, along with Crash Landing on You leads Hyun Bin and Son Ye Jin on the main cover.
