The Disney+ hit Moving is packed to the brim with staggering CGI and special effects, given that it’s now the most expensive K-drama to date. One perfect example might just be their actors, who’ve gone through great lengths to transform as their characters–including one surprise villain in the series finale!

Aside from Lee Jung Ha’s impressive change for his role as the teenage superhero Bong Seok, another actor also went through a significant transformation for his own character. The Korean actor Kim Joong Hee was introduced during the tail end of season one as the mysteriously menacing Lim Jae Seok, a North Korean agent with an intimidating power of his own.
In the drama, Jae Seok is depicted as a reclusive yet powerful being, who can manipulate an immense power cycle through one clap of his hands, as if simulating the shattering effects of an earthquake. Jae Seok has lived a solitary life inside a North Korean cave, opting to stay in enclosed spaces away from the sunlight.
The finale treats him as the North Korean agents’ final card, as he emerges from the trunk of their car for the final battle with his scruffy appearance while donning sunglasses to shield his eyes.
The internet, however, was left surprised after discovering the skilled actor behind the formidable role. The 39-year-old Kim Joong Hee portrays him in the K-drama, who looks staggeringly different behind the scenes.
Netizens React to Kim Joong Hee’s Transformation for “Moving”
“His look transformation is ... wow [shocked emoji],” one user on X (formerly Twitter) wrote, adding a side-by-side of Joong Hee off-character and while on Moving.
Another chimed in with a jesting remark, saying that he wasn’t as “old” as he thought it was.
Meanwhile, others praised the styling and makeup department of Moving.
Users also noted Joong Hee’s dramatic change in his other series Through the Darkness, where he's depicted as a villainous balding man.
