Kim Chiu’s hard work continues to pay off. At the end of 2021, the actress revealed that she’d fulfilled her dream of buying a rest house in Tagaytay. “Nakuha ko ‘to nung pandemic. Kasi na-realize ko na ang iksi ng buhay natin,” she explained in a YouTube video. “Nung nagkaroon ng COVID…naisip ko kung para saan pa ang pagtratrabaho ko kung hindi ko rin naman kukunin yung pangarap ko.”
It’s been almost two years since, and she finally gave fans a tour around her prized vacation home. Part one of the vlog showed the house’s modern exteriors. Originally in dark grey, it was repainted in earth tones of beige, cream, and brown, and fitted with wooden canopies to exude a lighter aura.
The structure itself is surrounded with nothing but greenery, giving Kim and her family enough privacy and as much fresh air as they’d like. Kim shared, “Dito ko china-charge yung sarili ko away from the city, ‘pag gusto ko magpahinga…”

Here’s everything else we loved about the exteriors of Kim Chiu’s Tagaytay rest house:
The heated pool
Beside the length of the house’s main entrance is a swimming pool. Since it’s cold in Tagaytay, the pool has a feature that allows it to heat up. As per Kim, it originally came with the house and that they simply had its tiles and flooring repaired. In true vacay fashion, swimming here is often accompanied by a get together nearby using fold-up chairs and tables setup on their wide entryway.

The outdoor lounging area
Kim had an elevated, wooden flooring built outdoors so she could have her own mini al fresco living room. According to the actress, it’s the “perfect spot to recharge and reenergize,” where she can sip her coffee and simply be “one with nature.” The area is furnished with plastic lounge chairs and leather pillows that can be easily wiped down in case it rains. Kim teased that fans might see more of this area in the future when she has her celebrity friends come over for filmed interviews.

The view of Taal Lake
Speaking of the outdoor living area, it’s also the ideal place to bask in the stunning scenery of Taal Lake in the distance. Talk about a “room” with a view.

The fire pit
Last but not least is the fire pit; yet another cool amenity that was already built in with the house when Kim bought it. It’s the main place where she hangs out with her family or friends to drink wine and chat on a cold night.
