The Philippine’s bet for Miss Eco International 2020, Kelley Day, just bagged the first runner-up spot in the competition held in South Sinai, Egypt this Monday, April 5, 2021.
Kelley was bested only by South Africa’s Gizelle Uys, who ultimately took home the coveted crown. Meanwhile, USA’s Alexandria Kelly was named the second runner-up of the night, while Venezuela and Costa Rica joined the title-holders in the final five.
Apart from garnering second place, Kelley also won Best National Costume at the preliminaries, for her Maria Clara-inspired modern Filipiniana gown, which was designed by Louis Pangilinan.
“It was such an honor to wear this beautiful creation in the National Costume Competition of Miss Eco International,” gushed Kelley in an Instagram post. “Winning Best National Costume tonight just made me feel even MORE proud to be representing the Philippines. Thankful for all the hard work and creativity of the team that was behind this.”

An actress and performer, Kelley is a 24-year-old Tarlac native best known for starring as a support character in the GMA crime drama, Dahil sa Pag-Ibig. She was also a former member of the It’s Showtime dance group Girltrends.
The Philippines last won Miss Eco International in 2018 with Cebu’s Cynthia Thomalla who was crowned in Cairo, Egypt.
