Kathryn Bernardo’s done it again! Just last Sunday, the actress snagged yet another Best Actress Award at The Eddys (Entertainment Editors' Choice Awards for Movies), for her portrayal of George on her 2018 hit movie with Daniel Padilla, The Hows of Us. The win came just over a month after she last bagged the Best Actress Award at the 35th PMPC Star Awards.
Always thankful for her blessings, the actress recently posted about her win on Instagram, along with a humble message of gratitude. Her caption reads, “As I type this, I am out of words. I honestly can't even begin to express how grateful I am for this Best Actress award. I am incredibly honored and deeply thankful to the Entertainment Editors' Choice Awards for Movies (The Eddys) for granting The Hows of Us another unexpected win. Maraming, maraming salamat po!”
Leave it to Kath to stay down-to-earth, though. Despite her back-to-back win, she reiterated on the same post that it’s not the accolades and trophies that truly define a great actress, but the number of lives she’s managed to impact through the stories she tells.
“I personally believe that trophies do not make an actress. It’s also not about the sales or how much a movie has earned. It's about the many hearts that you're able to touch through your films. It's about making a fictional character come to life and having other people see themselves in her as well. It's about the literal sweat, blood, and tears that you pour into your role,” Kath writes. “I feel validated as an actress not because of this trophy, but because of what it symbolizes: people lining up in the cinemas to see the film we've worked so hard on, being able to touch so many hearts through it, and the continuous support and recognition that we've been receiving since. Your endless love and support make everything worthwhile.”
We’re proud of you, Kath! Congratulations!
