Moms’ creative juices really work double-time when it comes to their babies’ milestone photoshoots. And it’s for a good reason, as these photographs capture precious and fleeting moments in our children’s lives. “I think my baby will like it when she grows up and see her monthly milestones. I hope so,” shares 25-year old first-time mom Ivy Pracylynn Co-Tria in an interview with Smart Parenting.
Ivy is working as a receptionist at the Chinese Embassy, and has been married for two months now to Janov Dale Tria, 25. Their baby girl, Jada (a derivative of the father’s name), just turned seven months this January, and is already receiving a lot of attention on social media because of her mother's creativity.

LOOK: Jada, the "Kakanin Baby"
"Kakanin is our favorite food when it comes to merienda,” shares Ivy. “We have seen different ideas (from the internet) like costumes of babies dressed in burrito, sushi, etc. But we want to make it as unique as possible, so (we asked ourselves) why not make it (about) Filipino food, which we haven’t seen anyone do?’

With the help of Ivy’s sisters-in-law who became instant photographers using their phones’ cameras, Ivy put her idea to test and bought the materials she needed for her baby’s milestone photoshoot. “The costume is made of used linen, crepe paper, yarn, pillow for shaping of props, buri mat, and fresh banana leaves,” shares Ivy adding that she only spent around Php 100 every month for these materials.
To parents who wish to do creative photoshoots, Ivy has a very important tip: “Be patient, because we all know our babies are very hyper, so every photoshoot, you will have struggles like they want to get out of the costume,” she points out.

“You just need to find ways to make them calm like giving them toys or playing their favorite movies on the internet,” she advises. Aside from hoping little Jada would love these photos when she grows up, Ivy, herself, finds so much joy in seeing her cute baby dressed like her favorite rice cakes. “It makes me happy as a mom seeing my daughter dressed like a food!” It's true: the joy these cute photos bring to every parent's heart is priceless indeed!

Talking about parenting, this new mom shares that each mother-and-child relationship is unique, and mastering this bond is something every mom only learns through experience. “The best thing about being a parent is (that) it challenges you every day on how to become a mother, (it’s a relationship) that no one can teach us how (to navigate). It is just you and your kid that will know how to handle each other. The bond that I have with my baby is very priceless. Every day is a learning process,” Ivy reveals.
We celebrate this bond, Mommy Ivy! Thank you for sharing your creativity.
