Kaila Estrada is currently basking in the overwhelming wave of positive feedback she's been receiving for her recent projects. The 27-year-old is part of the Prime Video series Linlang, in which she portrays Sylvia, a wife who discovers her husband is involved in an extramarital affair.
Since the series premiered on October 5, 2023, Kaila's scenes have gained significant traction and have become viral sensations on social media, especially on TikTok.
During the interview with PEP.ph, Kaila admitted that she wasn't sure how the audience would react to her portrayal in this more mature role. She said, "I'm so grateful kasi I wasn't sure if people were going to accept that I was, you know... Hindi ko kasi alam kung paano sila magre-react knowing that it's a much more mature role for me."
Nevertheless, she expressed her overwhelming gratitude for all the positive comments she has received regarding her performance in the series. "So, I'm so happy na hooked sila sa Linlang, first of all kasi pinaghirapan namin lahat doon. We're all very proud of it," she gushes.
"Talagang sobrang invested sila sa kwento. I really am just so happy they like Sylvia. They love her as much as I love Sylvia."
Many fans have noticed that Kaila inherited her parents' acting talents from Janice de Belen and John Estrada. While this recognition brings its own set of expectations, she uses it as her motivation in forging her own path in the industry.
"My parents, yung journey naman nila sa industry is different from mine. So, we're really not going to be the same, 'di ba? Like, I'm my own person, I have my own strengths, and my own weaknesses, as well," she states.
"Sila kasi, they've been doing this for many, many years. And I still have a lot to learn, a lot to improve on. So, I'm just happy na so far, the responses have been positive naman."
