Among the standout candidates at the Binibining Pilipinas 2023 pageant is Ms. Aklan, Jessie Salvador. Her compelling performance bagged her a spot in the Top 11, which was an impressive feat considering this was her first time to ever compete onstage. Starpower runs in her veins, though—in fact, did you know that she is the little sister of a beloved dancer-slash-actress?
Her surname is probably a dead giveaway to her celebrity genes. Her older sibling is none other than Maja Salvador, who also serves as her talent manager under Crown Management Inc.
In an interview, Jessie revealed that it was actually Maja who pushed her to join this year's competition. Aside from being a beauty queen, the 24-year-old is also a budding TV show host and actress, having appeared in Chainmail, a movie starring Nadine Lustre.
She recalls being told "'Wag kang panghinaan ng loob" by her older sister upon signing up for the pageant. Jessie went on to train with the Aces & Queens camp, which has produced winners like Pia Wurtzbach and Kylie Verzosa.
