PBA star Jeron Teng just received the best birthday gift: a sweet, sweet ‘yes!’ from his longtime girlfriend, model Jeanine Tsoi!
Jeron shared the good news by posting on his Instagram with the caption, “My birthday just became more meaningful. Best day ever!!"
Likewise, Jeanine also wrote a succinctly wholesome caption on her latest IG post: “My answered prayer.”
While it may seem witty for Jeron to propose at the FilOil Flying V Arena, knowing the couple’s humble beginnings makes the choice all the more sentimental.
Jeron and Jeanine met during their UAAP days. While the former King Archer was playing for De La Salle University (DLSU), Jeanine was busy covering this team as DLSU’s courtside reporter. Little did they know that their shared passion for the game would eventually lead to their epic love story. So, when Jeron donned his green-and-white jersey once again as he got down on one knee, we couldn’t help but swoon!
Just like in his matches, Jeron armed himself with specific goals, a game plan, and the best team to win Jeanine’s yes.
According to events stylist Kyno Kho, Jeron initially wanted to pop the question at a hotel. However, everything aligned when he soon changed his mind and decided to propose on a basketball court instead, where they first met!
“Without second thoughts, we told him to push through with this!”, shared Kyno. “The challenge may be greater when it comes to styling, but more than delivering our services, we wanted to cherish their story. Besides, the more difficult the setup is, the more excited we become!”
Fortunately, the plan worked. A day of preparation in the warehouse and a 12-hour setup in the court later, and the college sweethearts were engaged—all while surrounded with exquisite shades of pink and red florals, exuding a romantic glow. “Jeron wanted us to use blush flowers, so we incorporated it with our signature #kynofied sparkling lights. We were so happy when Jeron told us how magical the court became after the transformation!”, Kyno added.
Tying the concept all together were celebrity planner Kim Torres, photographers Oli Ruiz and Kiko Pascua of Metro Photo, and videographer Albert Ao of Project Mayo 7, who made sure to capture the momentous event for the pair.
In case you can’t get enough of their proposal, here’s the couple's post-engagement shoot on the bleachers for an extra treat!
The best day, indeed. Congratulations, Jeron and Jeanine!
