The year 2022 seems bright for many young celebrities. But as more and more Gen Z personalities take interest in the entertainment industry, it gets harder for showbiz newcomers to find their feet without a household last name. For example, becoming a memorable leading man is certainly a big feat given the number of talented actors in the country. Still, Jeremiah Lisbo is slowly but surely trekking the path to success. It's easy to stereotype him as your run-of-the-mill second lead in his latest He's Into Her role, but thereâs surprisingly more to him than meets the eye.
Interested to learn more about this budding actor? Here are six fast facts you should know about Jeremiah:
1. Jeremiah is a middle child.
Jeremiah was born as Jeremiah Jordan Romano Lisbo on November 27, 1997. Yup, that makes him a 24-year-old Sagittarius! Growing up as the second child among three brothers, he was mainly brought up by his mother and grandmother.
2. Jeremiah is a six-footer.
FYI, you won't ever have to worry about missing Jeremiah in a sea of people. He currently towers at an impressive height of 6'0, so it's no wonder that he loves playing basketball so much! Bonus trivia: As a child, he looked up to Lebron James and aspired to be a professional basketball player.
3. Jeremiah is a college graduate.
After graduating high school from Maria Montessori Holy Christian School, Jeremiah found it difficult to choose a college course that he was truly interested in. Soon enough, he decided to take up Hotel and Restaurant Management because he realized that his passion in life is to make people feel happy and comfortable. He eventually completed his degree in 2019, even taking up an internship at a five-star hotel in Makati prior to graduation. In fact, he was even the head of FEU's sports organization!
4. Jeremiah's showbiz career got off to a rough start.
With a passion to entertain and make people laugh, Jeremiah wanted to join Goin' Bulilit ever since he was little. When his childhood plans unfortunately didn't materialize, he took it upon himself to complete his studies while trying to break into the entertainment industry during his teen years. Like most student celebrities, Jeremiah struggled to juggle showbiz and academics because of how hectic his work schedule was.
Although he would only play an "extra" in his gigs at the time, the long work hours already ate up a lot of his study time. One time, he even skipped class because he was asked to be on the set as early as 6 a.m. After waiting for twelve hours to shoot his scene, he got sent home without any footage because he supposedly didn't look "probinsyano enough." Disheartened by this experience, Jeremiah took a break from acting and tried his hand at modeling instead. Following several failed auditions, he was finally booked for a McDonald's television commercial and a Bench fashion campaign.
5. Jeremiah joined Star Magic Circle in 2019.
Although the path to success was far from easy, Jeremiah acknowledges that his very first commercial landed him a spot in Star Magic Circle's Batch 2019. He was launched alongside fellow budding stars such as Gillian Vivencio, Javi Benitez, Melizza Jimenez, Kyle Echarri, and even He's Into Her co-star Belle Mariano. A year later, he finally made his television debut in Make it With You, a romantic-comedy series top billed by Liza Soberano and Enrique Gil. Following the success of the show later that year, he inked a deal with ABS-CBN's Rise Artists with 12 other up-and-coming talents. Afterwards, he made his big screen debut as the love interest of Belle's character in Four Sisters Before the Wedding. Since then, he has worked on other successful projects including Love is Color Blind, Love or Money, and the Four Bad Boys and Me.
6. Jeremiah's dream girl is mature and supportive.
Many mistakenly perceive Jeremiah as a playboy due to his on-screen characters, but he's actually quite the romantic in real life. He's a big believer in soulmates and appreciates a mature partner who selflessly supports his dreams and listens to what he wants. Likewise, his biggest pet peeve when it comes to dating is controlling and obsessive behavior. As an outdoorsy guy, he also prefers to go on adventurous dates involving scuba diving, skydiving, and mountain climbing.
