"I'm really excited for people to see how awesome Jasmine is in this film," says Baka Bukas director Sam Lee when we asked her about her debut film in this month's issue. And last night, that statement couldn't have been more true as Jasmine Curtis bagged the Best Actress award at the Cinema One Originals Film Festival Awards Night.

Baka Bukas is a film about two best friends, played by Jasmine (Alex) and Louise Delos Reyes (Jess), who discover a deeper type of love that is more than friendship. In an earlier interview with Preview, she also shared that playing lesbian or gay is nothing different compared to playing a straight female character who's in love.
She accepted the award wearing a sleek black suit with a white turtle neck underneath. To complete her polished look, the actress paired it with thin-strap heels. Congratulations, Jasmine!
