Who doesn't find comfort in cozying up to a warm bowl of champorado, especially on a rainy day? There's just something about the way chocolate and rice come together that makes for a whole that's more than the sum of its parts. But there are more ways to enjoy it than just as a warm porridge; you can now get it as an cold, creamy dessert, too. That's right: Hapag and The Lost Bread have teamed up with Auro Chocolate to bring us Champorado Ice Cream. It's part of their new Filipino Flavors Ice Cream Line—a.k.a. ice cream inspired by Filipino merienda favorites!
The Champorado Ice Cream (P450) has a robust and full-bodied chocolate flavor, thanks to the use of 100% Auro Chocolate Cacao Tablea in the mix. It's also got bits of black rice and a palad brittle for a hint of crunch and chewiness that's great against the creamy ice-cream base. It'll definitely take you back to the good ol' days of enjoying champorado—just in a frozen and more decadent light.
If the fruity flavors of banana cue are more your jam, you can also get the Banana Cue Ice Cream (P450), which has a grilled banana ice cream (that truly tastes of real banana!) plus a cashew streusel and Auro cacao nibs. And if you love your kakanin, don't miss the Espasol Ice Cream (P450), a nutty treat made with toasted rice flour, espasol bits, and Auro's 32% Roasted White Chocolate with Cashew. If you can't just pick one, you can also get a bundle of all three flavors for P1350.
