If you're struggling to find the right VSCO filter combos or to set up the coolest Lightroom presets for a perfectly curated Instagram Story aesthetic, then you've come to the right place. As it turns out, you don't need a bajillion apps or a crash course on Adobe Lightroom—in fact, you don't even need to leave the app itself! Ahead, we're letting you in on a little secret: Instagram has been storing secret filters that you can use for free! Intrigued? Follow the steps below and find out how to unlock them.
Step 1: Swipe to the right to go to Instagram’s camera.
Step 2. Select the Filters icon (the smiley face).
Step 3. Scroll all the way to the end and click “more effects.”
Step 4. You’ll see all the user-created filters. Be sure to follow them to add their filters.
Step 5. Further sift through the uploaded filters.
For vintage-style filters, search through the Camera styles tab. You’ll find grainy or dusty filters to give you that old camera aesthetic. Try the following:
