Last Saturday, Mr. and Mrs. Dingdong and Marian Dantes threw their soon-to-be bundle of joy a party that deserves some raving. There’s still more or less two months before the world meets this couple's mini-me, but we can already see how #DongYan's embracing parenthood. Their first order of business: to throw a baby shower fit for a princess. Below, a few tips we learned from the royal showbiz couple on how to throw a baby bash.
The Name
Give your baby a name worthy of her own teleserye. Like, Maria Letizia Gracia Dantes.
The Theme
It’s the oldest rule in the book: the color motif should be pink for girls and blue for boys. Tutu princess was the theme they chose and, we have to say, it’s very fitting since little Maria Letizia's parents are both good dancers.
The Invitation
Nice Print made these super cute invites to match the tutu princess theme. The secret to making it special is to be as personal and as creative as possible.
The Venue
If you want to make a statement, throw your party in a hotel. #DongYan chose Marriott Hotel as the venue for the shower. Events specialist, Teena Barretto, turned the ballroom into a setting fit for a debut. We can only imagine how her 18th birthday party will look like years from now!
The Food
We spotted our favorite sliders from Sweet X. You don’t always have to stick to the traditional buffet offered by hotels. If you have a favorite burger joint or cupcake café, then feel free to get them for your event. Even if they don’t normally cater to parties, you can always ask. Who knows, they might just make an exception for you.
The Drinks
The key to a throwing a Pinterest-worthy party is in the small details. Pilipinas Serve Drinks' crafted beverages served in mason jars added a delightful touch to the event.
The Cake
Just because she’s a baby doesn’t mean she can’t have a big cake. This one by Marriott can level with #DongYan’s wedding cake. #Lol
The Dessert
The dessert table was filled with sweets by Joy San Gabriel. The cuter they are, the better.
The Giveaway
Think outside the box. Something useful, perhaps? We love how they gave away crown-shaped power banks personalized with rose gold trimmings and Swarovski crystals. They enlisted the help of Catalog Shopper for this and, needless to say, the guests were able to IG the night away without having to worry about empty batteries.
The Perfect OOTD
Marian Rivera is one radiant mom-to-be. You can see it in her smile, her glow and, let’s not forget, her OOTDs. For the shower, she opted for a baby pink bib dress, white Manolo Blahnik Hangisi ballet flats, and her Hermes Birkin 25 HSS in Epsom Rose Confetti.
By the way, we heard that Maria Letizia even received her first pair of diamond hoops from her lola. We simply can’t wait for little Marian’s future OOTDs!
