This just might be the year of at-home entertaining.

If the word “tablescape” making it into the Preview girl lexicon is proof of one thing, it’s that this just might be the year of at-home entertaining. Besides, there’s something grown up about having guests over, no? Here we ask a few pointers from furniture and interior designer Ito Kish, who was awarded Best Designer for Furniture, Decorative Items and Homeware at the 2017 A’ Design Award and Competition in Como, Italy, about what it takes to host the perfect brunch at home. Bring out the pastel plates and the bubbly!

Ito Kish's Cool Life collection utilizes a blue and white color scheme and prints that symbolize water in his ceramic décor and houseware items.

You recently collaborated with Robinsons Department Store on a holiday collection where we saw a lot of beautiful colors and patterns. How should one decorate with these pieces?

Do not be afraid to play around with the variety, especially in the same hues. Mix it with white-and-green centerpieces, and the table will be beautiful.

Can you tell us more about the collection?

We designed the two collections with the clear objective of elevating your home regardless of the season. We’re very happy that Robinsons shoppers gave a positive response.

What’s in store for 2018?

Six more collections will be introduced in partnership with Robinsons Department Store Home Section this year. The first three will be out in June in celebration of Home Fair, then the rest will be released in time for the holidays.
