Stay in control.

Whether it may be personal or work-related, stress is already a part of our lives. We sometimes dread getting up because we anticipate "hell week." This thought causes us to feel negative about ourselves—both physically and emotionally. To help you cope, here are some habits you can try.

1. Do positive affirmations in the morning.

To start your day right, fill your mind with positive thoughts about yourself. Whenever you’re worried about countless things, repeat statements like, “You are enough. You’ve got this. Don’t be scared.” You can even try saying empowering messages while staring at your reflection in the mirror.

2. Wear your favorite outfit.

If you’re dreading a busy day in the office, slip on an outfit that will boost your confidence. It may be your favorite blouse or a pair of high heels that will make you feel powerful and in control.

3. Put your hair up.

There is an unexplainable empowering emotion you get when you put your hair up in a ponytail or a bun. When your tresses are away from your face, you are conditioned to believe that you are in charge of the situation.

4. Stay smelling and feeling fresh.

There are times when we feel conscious of how we smell. Spritz on your favorite fragrance to uplift your mood. If you're conscious of your scent down there, turn to a reliable pantyliner that is made with flexible, soft material that will follow your every move and will absorb odors.

5. Improve your posture.

A simple change in your posture can influence your thoughts and behavior. Stand tall or sit up straight—these can signal your mind and body to “hold in” negative emotions.

6. Change the way you think.

When dealing with stress and worries, breathe first and try to reframe your thoughts. Look at the “problem” from a different perspective. Find out how you can turn the situation to your advantage. It’s not about being instantly positive about it, but viewing the issue as a learning experience.

7. Accept and acknowledge the problem.

It’s important to recognize defeat and negativity, too. Brushing it off is a form of “resisting” to reality. According to The Life Coach podcast, you must acknowledge negative feelings. If you feel shame, pause and observe how your body reacts. Breathe and stay in the moment. This practice will prevent you from having a breakdown and help you think of solutions to improve the situation.
