Bring your hosting A-game to this year’s Christmas party by creating a festive photo booth for your guests. Preview asked event stylist, Jo Claravall, for tips on how to set up a booth that’s easy, stylish, and most importantly, IG-worthy. Because let’s be honest, Christmas is the best opportunity to level up your Instagram feed.
Step One: Create a base.
Hang a piece of fabric against a wall or window to fabricate an actual photo booth wall. But don't be restricted to using plain materials. Do as Georgina Wilson does and opt for something sparkly. Perfect for Kira Kira, don't you think?
Step Two: Time for add-ons.
Layer on festive details such as lights, ribbons, or ornaments. Jo likes to use tivoli lights which she hangs haphazardly to create an effortless effect.
Pro Tip: If you plan to use lights, use battery operated ones so you don’t have to worry about finding electrical outlets.
Step Three: Pop in some props.

Jo used christmas carousel horses, but she says you can use anything you have on hand, from mini Christmas trees to gift boxes. It’s all about using what you already have and letting your creativity take over.
Step Four: Dress up!
Finally, Jo says, “dress cutely, doll up and smile for the holidays.” Your festive Christmas booth is best complemented with cheery holiday smiles. Have fun!
