The British royal family is arguably the most prominent royals in the world. But have you ever wondered what they actually do and how they earn a living? Aside from outwardly living out the fairytale dreams of our childhood, of course. They don't live straight out of a Disney movie, that's for sure.
Well, as mentioned on their official website, their job description or official role is to "support The Queen in her many State and national duties, as well as carrying out important work in the areas of public and charitable service, and helping to strengthen national unity and stability." This includes over 2000 engagements all over the world each year.
But that's not exactly how they get paid. According to Business Insider, Queen Elizabeth II of England gets her dues through a funding known as The Sovereign Grant, which then receives its own funding from a £13 billion real estate and property portfolio called the Crown Estate owned by the reigning monarch.
