If your end-goal is to make every corner of your place instantly Instagrammable, then Homebase should be your starting point. This new website is dedicated to helping you visualize, curate, and source your home decor and furniture needs.
"As a consumer and my sister as an architect, we really found a common insight with the fact that sourcing for furniture in the country is so challenging," Homebase Co-Founder Lui Castaneda tells Preview. "We know that there are so many brands available in the market (especially good local ones), but we don't know much about them." Thus, the birth of Homebase, your new "springboard for everything home furnishing."
The site offers a practical way of mood boarding, since you get to visualize your pegs with actual and available furniture and decor. Lui says that Filipinos are ready for such a concept due to our strong sense of self expression. "People are now designing their homes as an extension of their personal expression. Like fashion, there's also the preference of having unique pieces that you wont easily find in your default department store."
So how does it work? After creating your personal profile, you can easily start your research. You can start with looking up their curated home design inspirations, hover on key pieces, and discover where and how to buy them. The site offers all the information you need, including the brand, item name, price, store location, website, contact details, and more.
Alternatively, you can browse through their brand partners like H&M Home, Urban Abode, Tierra, Home Cartel, Decoliving, Palamuti, and more. Lui also shares, "West Elm has confirmed to be on the site. So expect to see more mid-century modern pieces! [It's] perfect for those who want to recreate that Brooklyn, New York vibe. We also have Simply Modular, a Hong Kong-based brand that specializes in screwless stackable or modular panels that you can use for storage and/or furniture. We're also working on other in-demand categories, like plants, lights, and storage."
With so many products to choose from, Homebase makes your decision-making a lot easier by letting you do product comparisons. You can compare up to six items side-by-side and review their specifications.
Lui also reveals that there is so much more to come for the site. "Eventually, we want to be able to sell exclusive accessories/small items (or special capsule collections) to cater to a more discerning consumer." How exciting!
