K-pop idols are no strangers to luxury, but BTS’ V has taken it a step further with a jaw-dropping real estate move. The singer and actor has reportedly secured one of Seoul’s most exclusive addresses, joining a roster of celebrities and high-profile figures who call the neighborhood home.
BTS' V Reportedly Purchases $10 Million Penthouse in Seoul
According to reports, V, whose real name is Kim Tae Hyung, recently secured a penthouse at one of Cheongdam-dong’s most prestigious addresses, with the price tag reaching 14.2 billion won (approximately $10.1 million or P580 million).
The five-bedroom, three-bathroom apartment—complete with sweeping views of the Han River—was acquired without a mortgage, suggesting the deal was paid entirely in cash. The Korea Herald noted that the contract was signed as early as May, with final ownership transferred to V this September.

V’s purchase adds to BTS’ growing list of headline-making real estate acquisitions. The outlet also noted that Jin bought a unit at Hannam The Hill for 17.5 billion won earlier this year, J-Hope acquired a penthouse at Afer Hangang in 2023, while both RM and Jimin became homeowners at the coveted Nine One Hannam complex back in 2021.
Inside Seoul's Luxurious PH129 Penthouse
Formerly known as The Penthouse Cheongdam, PH129 has become one of Seoul’s most exclusive addresses. Completed in 2020 by Hyundai Engineering & Construction on the former site of the Eluui Hotel, the building rises 20 stories above ground with six basement levels and just 29 residences.
Hyundai Engineering & Construction highlights PH129’s standout design features, such as oversized floor-to-ceiling windows that frame views of the Han River and unusually tall ceilings. At the very top, the two penthouse units even include their own rooftop pools, setting them apart as some of the rarest residences in Seoul.
The address has already attracted some of the country’s most recognizable names, including actors Jang Dong Gun and Ko So Young. Government data released in May, according to The Korea Herald, placed one of the building’s larger residences, a 407.71-square-meter duplex, at 17.21 billion won.
Meanwhile, a property listing in the Financial Times described a four-bedroom, five-bathroom unit as “a sanctuary of elegance and engineering excellence,” highlighting its duplex layout, sweeping Han River views, and ultra-rare ceiling heights.
