Attention, caffeine lovers! A new hangout spot just opened up in Quezon City, and it’s definitely worth the visit once we’re free to step out again.
Introducing HISBEANS Coffee, a Korea-based cafe that opened their first branch in the Philippines last July 30. Operating with the motto, “We love people through coffee,” the business mainly hires and gives opportunities to Persons with Disabilities. From their baristas to their coffee specialists, each individual is given proper training through their own coffee school, dubbed the HISBEANS Barista Academy. That said, Non-PWDs can also enroll in their classes if you’re eager to level up your coffee game at home, or even attain official barista certifications.

As of the moment, the coffee brand can be found in 20 locations across Korea, along with their pioneer branch in the Philippines. Thanks to their efforts, over 70 PWDs have been trained and employed to become professional baristas, as per the company's CEO, Jeong Taek Lim.
The cafe itself boasts of blends made out of specialty grade Arabica beans. Customers can enjoy their drinks amongst a fresh atmosphere, furnished with polished wooden interiors. Meanwhile, those looking to take snaps for the ’Gram will no doubt take a liking to the store’s neon signages. In fact, they even have a selfie corner ready to feature in your next IG story!
