The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) just released its annual Occupational Wages Survey (OWS). With it, we are given a better picture of just how much workers in the Philippines are really paid.

Unsurprisingly, the top earners in the country are those in the aviation industry. Aircraft pilots were the highest-paid workers in the nation, earning around P135,363 a month. Coming in second were software developers, who generally make P70,595 per month. Third are mathematicians and actuaries at P69,654. For context, the minimum wage in 2022 is P18,423.Â

Other high-paying occupations include production supervisors and general foremen employed in Electricity, Gas, Steam, and Air Conditioning Supply, who mostly enjoy an average salary of P63,017 per month. Geologists in Mining of Coal and Lignite; Extraction of Crude Petroleum and Natural Gas; and Other Mining and Quarrying, on the other hand, get paid approximately P49,059 a month.

Among other trends found in the OWS is the fact that female time-rated workers earn more than males. They get a median pay of P14,916 while men get P14,413.
