New York's finest roadside burger is ready to shake up Manila! Get ready to satisfy your cravings as Shake Shack reaches Philippine shores, finally making its home at the ground floor of Central Square at Bonifacio Global City on the corner of C1 Park and 5th Avenue. The burger joint will be taking the place of what used to be a Michael Kors store.
Set to open in the first quarter of 2019, Shake Shack is best known for cooking up natural, hormone- and antibiotic- free premium Angus beef. Their eclectic menu also boasts their world-famous milkshakes, hot dogs, and cheese fries. I mean, our mouths are already watering just at the thought of them. The fast casual restuarant juggernaut has been serving up scrumptuous roadside eats since 2001 when it first started out as a small hot dog cart, and has since expanded to 200 more branches both in the United States and internationally.
Shake Shack, in partnership with the SSI group, has been gearing up to have its Manila branch be a unique experience catered especially to the Filipino. The establishment's construction will start with two murals painted by urban artist Jappy Agoncillo, whose work captures the spirit and landscape of Manila.
The first mural displayed along 5th Avenue “used real life monuments and buildings, each from some of the major cities that make up Metro Manila, as inspiration,” Jappy reveals.
On the other hand, the second mural found in Central Square harkens back to the nightlife of Manila rooftop scenery. Both murals appear neon in the daytime, and are made to glow at night.
That's not the only thing Shake Shack's got up its sleeve, though. During the establishment's construction, life-size installations of their signature ShackBurger will be popping up around the BGC neighborhood. Just to get you even more excited, here are some of the favorites you can expect to order from the menu when the restaurant opens early next year.
The Central Square BGC branch is Shake Shack's first venture in Southeast Asia.
