Fully vaccinated individuals experiencing COVID-like symptoms or tested positive for the coronavirus should follow a set of guidelines before they get their boosters, the Department of Health said that as the country battles a surge driven by the Omicron variant.
Getting a booster shot while still nursing COVID-19 could risk infecting others, Dr. Beverly Ho, head of the DOH Health Promotions Bureau earlier told reportr.
Here's what you need to take note of before getting your booster shot if you're experiencing symptoms
- It has been three months since your second dose of AstraZeneca, Pfizer, Sinovac, or Sputnik or two months after your single dose of Janssen vaccine
- You finished your prescribed isolation period
- You did not have fever for the last 24 hours even without taking fever medication
- Your respiratory symptoms (like coughs and colds) have improved
Symptoms may differ for each individual, Ho told reportr. In case of other symptoms and other difficulties, it's best to get advice from a health practitioner about your case, she said.
