Ed Westwick, most famously known for his role as Chuck Bass in the hit TV series Gossip Girl, is the latest Hollywood figure to be accused of rape.
The alleged assault happened three years ago when actress Kristina Cohen visited Ed’s house with an unnamed producer she was currently dating at the time. “I was sexually assaulted three years ago. It was a dark time in my life. My mom was dying of cancer and I didn’t have the support system or time to process and deal with the aftermath of the rape,” she wrote in a lengthy Facebook post. “I was briefly dating a producer who was friends with the actor Ed Westwick. It was this producer who brought me up to Ed’s house where I met Ed for the first time.”
Read her very detailed post below, which recounts how the actor allegedly forced himself on top of her:
In response to Kristina, the 30-year-old British actor took it to Twitter and Instagram to deny the rape accusation.
“I do not know this woman,” he said in his statement. “I have never forced myself in any manner, on any woman. I certainly have never committed rape.”
Cary Alexander, an actor and Ed’s roommate during the time of the alleged rape, also left a comment on Kristina’s Instagram page to his defense, accusing Kristina that she’s only “seeking five minutes of fame.” He wrote, “I was his roommate during that year and never heard of you or ever seen you in my life!”
