Gideon Hermosa Celebrates His 15th Year in the Events Industry
He marked the milestone with an exclusive masterclass and a grand runway show.

Published on Jul 18, 2025
Few names in the Philippine events scene evoke the kind of awe and artistry that Gideon Hermosa does.
Known for transforming venues into fantastical dreamscapes, the acclaimed event stylist has built a career on spectacle—melding florals, light, texture, and scale into immersive experiences that blur the line between reality and reverie. Over the past 15 years, he has become the go-to event stylist for high-society weddings and celebrity milestones, elevating the Filipino brand of event styling into a world-class craft. His aesthetic—opulent, thoughtful, yet proudly Filipino—has not only set the standard for the visual language of celebrations in the Philippines, but also across Asia’s design circles.
For his 15th anniversary, Gideon marked the milestone with a fitting display of creative prowess: a series of grandiose events that showcased the very artistry that earned him his stature. It was, in essence, a love letter to the craft that defined him and a glimpse into how he continues to shape the future of celebration aesthetics.

Gideon Hermosa Marks 15th Anniversary Through "Marry Me at Marriott"
To mark this milestone year, Hermosa partnered with Marriott Bonvoy to headline the 2025 edition of Marry Me At Marriott, now reimagined as The Philippine Gratus Gala: The Gideon Hermosa Anniversary Edition. The collaboration brought together his transformative vision and Marriott’s reputation for world-class hospitality.
“To be headlining Marry Me At Marriott this year feels incredibly special—like coming home,” Gideon shared. “It’s a full-circle moment, especially looking back. It’s not just another event. It’s a reminder of the journey, the people who’ve believed in me, and the chance to give that same belief back.”
The anniversary festivities began with a three-day masterclass held from June 30 to July 2. Titled the Gideonized Masterclass, the exclusive workshop offered an intensive, behind-the-scenes immersion into the creative discipline that has defined Gideon’s career. Hosted at the Marriott Grand Ballrooms, the sessions unpacked the artistry, innovation, and precision required to turn abstract concepts into fully realized, multisensory experiences.
Joined by a roster of international speakers and trusted local suppliers, Gideon welcomed aspiring event stylists into his world—a design philosophy anchored in instinct, detail, and what he fondly refers to as “beautiful chaos.”

As part of the hands-on training, Gideon challenged his students to transform the Marriott Grand Ballroom for the following evening’s Marry Me at Marriott showcase.
The highly anticipated presentation featured bridal collections from some of Philippine fashion’s most celebrated names: Michael Leyva, Francis Libiran, Vania Romoff, Mak Tumang, Rajo Laurel, and Michael Cinco. It was a lineup personally assembled by Gideon, whose longstanding relationships with these designers were forged through years of collaborative work. “I always work with them for weddings, debuts, and other occasions, so kumbaga, I have personal relationships with them and I know each of their strengths,” he shared.
From the outset, Gideon emphasized the importance of selecting the right materials to his students. Drawing from his affinity for florals and architectural forms, he guided his students through the process of constructing large-scale, sculptural designs using native resources. “We wanted to create a set that was larger than life, but using local materials—and transforming them into something very international,” he told Preview.
The result was a striking runway installation made from vertical bamboo rods arranged into fluid, undulating shapes, accompanied by dramatic floral ceiling fixtures. “We used bamboo, rattan, and wood in building the space,” he explained.

Gideon revealed that the vision for these celebrations was originally conceived in 2020, as part of his 10th anniversary plans. The celebration was to include a masterclass, a book launch, and a collaborative fashion show. However, the pandemic brought those plans to a halt. Now, five years later, he has revived the concept—on an even grander scale—to mark his 15th year in the industry.

A gala dinner held on the evening of July 2 served as the culminating event of his masterclass, where he honored and spotlighted the people who have stood by him throughout his journey. “Hindi ko ma-achieve ito without them also, and malaking factor yun [sa career ko],” he reflected.
Capping off the celebration, Gideon gathered 20 event planners and designers from across the Philippines for a post-showcase experience aimed at, in his words, “showcas[ing] our beautiful country.”
Congratulations, Gideon!
