No job is ever easy, and the seemingly glamorous and rewarding work of celebrities is no different.
In an interview on Luis Manzano’s YouTube channel, Francine Diaz shared the sobering realities that come with constantly being under the public eye. As someone who’s had to face scrutiny, gossip, and controversies at her young age, the actress is careful with her actions.
While making one mistake might serve as a learning curve for most, such a thing, no matter the gravity, could make or break the image or career of celebrities. “‘Pag nakaligtaan mo [mag-post for a brand] o nagkamali ka, magagalit sila sa’yo,” said Francine when asked about the cons of being an artista. “May consequence talaga lahat ng mga nabibigay sa ating mga artista.”
At that, Luis chimed in that the same can be said even if you’re not a public personality. “Gumawa ka ng isang maganda, yung isang hindi maganda ang papansinin ng tao.”
“Sobrang madudumihan pangalan mo,” added the actress. “Yun lang din mahirap minsan. [Kahit] ang dami mong ginawang maganda, 'pag nagkamali ka, maling-mali ka na sa harap ng ibang tao.”
Whether the potentially damaging gossip constantly badgering her may be true or not, the 18-year-old has learned to take all the negativity in stride. In her 2022 cover interview with Preview, Francine shared that she battles her bashers with nothing but positivity.
“Syempre po nakaka-affect sa’kin kung minsan, pero later on mare-realize ko, ‘Ay, hindi naman pala totoo yung sinasabi sa’kin so bakit ako magw-waste ng time sa mga sinasabi nila sa’kin na hindi totoo?’” she told Preview. “Hanggang ngayon pa rin naman po, nginingitian ko lang lahat ng hate sa’kin or hate comments or mga haters kasi I think ayun yung kailangan nila, love and positivity kasi kita naman na walang magandang side sa kanila.”
Francine’s career has seen a tremendous boost this 2022. After starring in the iWantTFC series Bola Bola, she’s now set to top bill the upcoming ABS-CBN and Dreamscape drama Dirty Linen, alongside Janine Gutierrez, Zanjoe, Marudo, and her new love team partner Seth Fedelin. Fans can also catch her in the recent music video of OPM artist Zack Tabudlo for his track As You Are.
