Forbes Asia adds that they have chosen to include celebrities that "have maintained their relevance and popularity in this challenging period by leveraging on the power of social media." More importantly, they zoomed in on social media stars that have "used their influence to support worthy causes, especially those with a Covid-19 focus."

Along with these Filipino celebs, many household names were also included. Among them are BTS, Blackpink, Red Velvet, Twice, IU, Lee Min Ho, Bae Suzy, Naomi Watanabe, Jay Chou, Arashi, Rebel Wilson, Chris Hemsworth, Margot Robbie, Kiko Mizuhara, and plenty more.
According to Forbes Asia, they determined their finalists by evaluating a candidate's combined social media reach and engagement. This includes reviewing their online portfolio that rounds up their "recent work, impact and advocacy, brand endorsements and business endeavors, and their recognition profile on a local, regional and global level." Additionally, "only those active in film, music, and TV were eligible."
