Cinemalaya is officially back for its 15th season featuring a full visual feast of new indie movies. Don't miss some of the best narratives the Filipino film industry has to offer this year, plus an eclectic lineup of international entries, from August 2 to 11 at the Cultural Center of the Philippines.

1. Ani (The Harvest)
The sci-fi flick directed by Kim Zuñiga and Sandro Del Rosario follows the coming-of-age journey of an orphaned boy and his robot in their quest to search for magical beans that can supposedly save his ill grandfather's life.
2. Belle Douleur (A Beautiful Pain)
Kit Thompson and Mylene Dizon star in Belle Douleur, a romance flick that centers on a woman trying to break out of the stereotypes and norms that society has put on females, in her bid to find happiness for herself.
3. Children of the River
The naive and blissful lives of four childhood friends are changed forever after a simple phone call disrupts everything they know.
4. Edward
A boy is forced to come of age on hospital grounds while he lives there to take care of his sick father. Directed by Thop Nazareno, the film stars Louise Abuel, Dido dela Paz, Elijah Canlas, Manuel Chua, and Ella Cruz.
5. Fucc Bois
The dreams of two aspiring actors, Ace and Miko, are taken on a different turn when life throws them an unexpected detour.
6. Iska
This tragicomedy directed by Theodore Boborol follows a mother living in poverty as she tries to keep herself and her autistic son's lives afloat.
7. John Denver Trending
A movie rooted on the sensibilities of the digital age, John Denver Trending tells the story of a 14-year-old boy whose life is destroyed by social media when a video of him beating up a classmate goes viral.
8. Malamaya
Malamaya stars Enzo Pineda, Sunshine Cruz, and Raymond Bagatsing; the narrative focuses on a jaded middle-aged artist, who suddenly finds inspiration and sexual reawakening after he meets a younger photographer.
9. Pandanggo sa Hukay
Iza Calzado leads Pandanggo sa Hukay, as a small town mid-wife preparing for a job interview, whose plans are thrown for a loop by a series of unfortunate events.
Tabon
Tabon, Xian Lim's directorial debut, is a mystery-crime flick following a man who questions his beliefs after he meets three suspects accused of a crime that they're convinced they didn't commit.
