What's really holding you back?

For most people, traveling's often seen as a group activity—be it with your family, your friends, or special someone. After all, who'd want to get lost in a foreign city alone? Those who fly solo are likely assumed to be going on business trips or, as they say, are doing some soul searching a la Eat, Pray, Love. However, according to a recent study conducted by Klook, it seems the tides are slowly changing as more Filipinos have expressed their desire to travel by themselves.

In a poll involving close to 21,000 respondents, 76% of the participants have revealed that they've either traveled alone or are considering the prospect for the future. When asked why they'd want a solo getaway, aside from the obvious "me time" of it all, most respondents admitted to needing a break from their day jobs, while others desired to escape their normal routinary life.

So what's holding most of us back from backpacking through Europe or trekking through Africa? Well, you probably already know the reason. According to Klook's study, 49% of those who were in favor of traveling solo have yet to do so for fear of being lonely. Meanwhile, other reasons involved having to plan and book the itinerary all on their own, while some remain concerned over their safety.

But hey, what's an adventure without a little uncertainty, right? And if it's the itinerary you're worried about, why not try searching online for set tour packages? That way you won't have to fuss over your plans much, plus you won't have to worry about getting lost either.

Take Klook, for example, where over 100,000 activities and services for both solo and group outings in more than 180 countries await you. They even have an ongoing Christmas promo until December 31, 2019 if you've finally plucked up the courage to explore the world all by yourself!
