We've said it before and we're not afraid to say it again: We're ridiculously hyped for the incoming Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker film. And it looks like we're not the only ones waiting to see whether it really is the end of the Skywalker saga, as Facebook Messenger has just released a bunch of cool new out-of-this-world features. Check out the new chat theme, AR effects, reaction emojis, and, yup, stickers all based on the galaxy far, far, away.
Transform your ordinary old chats with the Star Wars theme. Just click on that little info button on the upper-right corner to find the options. Plus, the emoji reactions automatically transform into a heart-eyed Poe, a laughing Finn, an awed Rey, a teary C3PO, an angry Kylo Ren (what a shocker, we know), BB-8 giving a flaming thumbs up, and a Storm Troopers hand giving a thumbs down. And don't even get us started on the sticker pack!
If you want to really delve into the Star Wars universe, check out the new AR effects they've put in. Pick a side with the Dark vs. Light effect, or join the Resistance with the Cockpit Effect—we're sure Poe won't mind if you borrow his X-Wing for a bit. You can even pretend to be onboard the Millenium Falcon traveling to different dimensions with the Lightspeed effect.
There's no word yet on how long these limited-edition features will be available on the app. Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker will be shown in local cinemas from December 20 to 22, 2019 and January 8, 2020 onwards, so fingers crossed we can keep using them until we finally get to watch it!
