Just when you think this summer’s heat index has reached its unforgiving peak, Ateneo Junior Marketing Association (AJMA) Shindig’s Sahara contributes to the furnace. The Eye at Green Sun Makati has become a melting pot of the boldest beats courtesy of Manila’s most sought-after DJs—Arthur Tan, Carlo Atendido, Ace Ramos, and Kat DJ— with free-flowing drinks and an entertaining night blown out of epic proportions.
If you passed this one out, chances are you also missed DJ Carlo Atendido’s viral live-remix of The Chainsmokers’ hit single, Roses, which left the party mob at a high, veins pumping on the dancefloor.

Meanwhile, we did the rounds to check how these ladies embraced the sand dunes (and dressed the part!) to overcome the heatwaves. As if the weather condition is any indication, here are the most common visual weapons of choice:
1. Bralettes
Joana De Guzman
Long gone were the days when bralettes and bandeaus were used only as intimates. We’re glad to say we’ve lived to see the day when bralettes have evolved to include more curated selections that are flexible enough to tolerate our hubadera tendencies—daytime to sundown!
2. Rompers
Mariko Dela Peña
Regina Tan
Insider’s tip: Maximize outfit mileage by matching rompers with skirts to create contrast and an unprecedented look. Last thing you want is to bump into someone else wearing the same outfit at the party.
3. Lingerie and Lace
Ally Munda
Sabrina Ng
The best option you probably have to showing some skin without being overly blunt about it is by wearing lace-themed dresses for an equally sexy and feminine vibe. On the flipside, if you want to look tougher and edgier, try wearing your lingerie-inspired dress with a pair of boots for that casual and playful touch. This Kate Moss signature trend in the '90s has made a comeback and we are totally digging it, for now.
4. Cut-outs
AJMA Shindig Ambassador Trish Filart
Breana Tan
Cut-outs are double-edged—they can be one of the most flattering and trickiest trend that has ever set foot in the fashionsphere. Almost everybody can find a certain cut-out that either highlights or downplays a certain body part. The trick is in the illusion it creates, so know your assets and what to emphasize.
5. Chokers
Logan Ang
Pauleen Flordelis
Chokers are this night’s prevailing trend. Almost every girl wore one in variations. Don’t limit yourselves with just the size and thickness—experiment with layers to set yours apart from the crowd.
