If you ever find yourself in dire need of a breather from the hustle and bustle of the city in the future, consider planning your great escape all the way to Nueva Ecija. Apart from being miles away from all your problems in the metro, the province is also home to Farm Ridge, a nature-crafted site in the municipality of Panatabangan.
FYI, Farm Ridge is actually the official e-commerce platform of Desmond Farm, “an agribusiness in the Philippines focusing in cacao farming, which aims to produce high quality cacao beans and develop a sustainable cacao farm.” Last February 2021, the farm opened itself up to accommodate guests looking for a tranquil getaway spot to spend their much-needed vacation time, whether it’s a no-frills roof over their heads or a safe camping site to park at.
Their Amihan Cabin, in particular, has proven to be a favorite with overnighters. Standing in the midst of serene farm fresh air, this triangular hut boasts of cozy wooden interiors, perfect for living out the cottagecore aesthetic of your Pinterest dreams. Starting at P2500/night, it comes with an attic bedroom, a balcony, and a living area fit for four people.

If you’re stopping by the farm with a larger group, fret not because there’s always the Matahum Farm House. A two-bedroom home overlooking the Sierra Madre mountain ranges and the Pantabangan Dam, its first floor is open to couples and families staying the night. Meanwhile, the second floor features a multi-purpose hall that can be rented separately by other guests.
