I don’t know about you but just watching a video of my favorite celeb can instantly make my day. If you can totally relate, imagine rather than going to YouTube for your daily dose of serotonin, you open a video instead of your favorite personality actually acknowledging your existence. You’d probably cry or pass out from joy—be honest.
Luckily from now on (for fans of Pinoy celebs, at least) it doesn’t all have to be in your head. Yep, it’s now completely possible to get a personalized shoutout from the likes of Edward Barber, Maris Racal, BGYO, AC Bonifacio, Iza Calzado, and a lot more!
Founded by Krystian Kucharzyk, FanLove is an easy-to-use platform that makes anyone’s favorite celebrity accessible to them by offering fully customizable, hyper-personalized video messages as taken by the personalites themselves. “With COVID as it is, the opportunities to engage with celebrities in live events and meet-and-greets is even more limited. And so, what we aim to do is to provide these personalized engagements,” explains Krystian.
The platform doesn’t just provide fans with quick video shoutouts though, for others this seemingly small thing can be just the mood-booster they need to get through the day. “I think what we’ve noticed is that a lot of folks are getting shoutouts because they’re getting a tough time during COVID, because maybe they’re separated from their families and don’t have the opportunity to be with them during these tough times,” Krystian tells Preview. “And so, getting uplifting messages from your favorite personalities really does have a serious impact on the fans.”
The start-up is working on getting more celebrities to participate, but as it is now, FanLove has already partnered with an impressive 167 celebrities. They’re reach ranges from actors, to musicians, to models, and even YouTube personalities. Aside from the aforementioned names above, you can also get yourself (or your friends) video messages from Charlie Dizon, BINI, Vivoree, Elisse Joson, and Kyle Echarri, among many others.
Apart from making fans happy, celebrities also have the option to donate their proceeds to the charity of their choice. Meaning, buying a shoutout won’t just get you a message from your fave, you could also end up helping out a worthy foundation, too!
That said, if the personality of your choice is “sold out” on the site, don’t fret because that just means you’ll have to wait a little bit longer to get yourself a shoutout. FanLove rightly works closely with their celebrity clients, after all.
“For the folks who have ‘sold out,’ the most likely scenario is that they’ve received a ton of requests,” says Krystian. “They will be back on the platform but we’re giving them an opportunity to catch up with all the outstanding requests that they have… It can definitely be overwhelming and so what we do is that we pause those bookings for them to catch up, and we’ll bring them back on the platform likely at a higher price point because the demand was so great.”
