His connection to the country goes way back.

"Have you ever considered staying here in the Philippines?" was one of the questions all-rounder (rapper, songwriter, actor) Korean artist Park Chanyeol from worldwide group EXO was asked during a press conference over the weekend. With a smile that no doubt charmed everyone in the room, he answered: "Every day." As it turns out, ours was the first country he ever visited, so it's easy to see why that was his answer!

Chanyeol, who was here in the Philippines just in April with Sehun—the other half of one of EXO's sub-unit EXO-SC—graced the country again through a "fun" meet as Ever Bilena's first male and international brand ambassador. The event was held at the Philippine International Convention Center on Sunday, October 1. On the same stage he sang Yeng Constantino's "Hawak Kamay," played sipa, and recited Filipino tongue twisters, among others.

Before the actual fan meet, members of the press and a few lucky fans had the chance to meet the Cherry Prince up close and hear him answer a few questions. One particular highlight? His connection to the Philippine shores!

As it turns out, the first foreign country that Chanyeol ever went to was actually the Philippines. It was when he was still in middle school. "I came to the Philippines for a short-term study program for English, and so I have a lot of memories here," he said through a translator.

Because of this, Chanyeol always feels comfortable whenever he visits the country, he explains.

When asked what he has in mind if he will be given a chance to bond with his fans—a question that earned a lot of "wooohs"—Chanyeol said that the first thing that came into his mind is to go to an island. Yes, without other people, but just him and the fans.

"It's going to be very chill [and] very free," he said. "We would go to the beach and swim at the sea, enjoy the food. That's the most ideal day with fans [that I have in mind right now]." Now that's a dream!
