One show that's on a lot of Filipinos' lips is Netflix's Physical: Asia. After all, it brought together six Filipino athletes, who collectively compete against teams from seven other countries—Australia, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Mongolia, Thailand, and Turkey.
Leading the Philippine team is none other than Manny Pacquiao. The world champion boxer is joined by mixed martial artist Mark "Mugen" Striegl, rugby player Justin Coveney, hurdler Robyn Lauren Brown, CrossFit athlete Lara Lorraine Liwanag, and Ray Querubin, who is known as the "Philippines' Strongest Man."

1. He started weightlifting at the age of 15.
Having initially trained with the Samjon Weighlifting Team in Bohol, Ray eventually earned a spot on the Philippine Weightlifting Team. In addition to being a weightlifter, Ray is also a strongman, powerlifter, and arm wrestler.
2. He has multiple national titles and records.
Ray has been dubbed as the "Philippines' Strongest Man," having won Philippines' Strongman Champion title three times. In 2017, he ranked 9th in the world. He also won the title of Static Monster Champion thrice from 2017 to 2019. Finally, he holds records in log press and axle deadlift. In fact, one of his feats include a 400kg silver dollar deadlift.

3. He is Team Philippines' "power engine"
Throughout the competition, Ray brought his strength, which proved helpful for physical callenges involving weights and requiring endurance.
4. He has a degree in psychology.
Ray got a scholarship from the University of San Jose-Recoletos, where he took up psychology. He currently works as a team manager at a business process outsourcing company.

5. He is a family man.
