Thai star power is taking over the realm of luxury fashion. As of late, actors, musicians, and social media personalities from the country are evolving from regional favorites to identifable representatives of the world's most revered maisons. Most recently, the House of Loewe has appointed screen star Tay Tawan as an official ambassador of the brand.

In a statement following the announcement, Tay expressed how it's been an honor for him to grow alongside Loewe. "Collaborating closely with the brand has deepened my admiration for its artistry and inspired new paths of self-expression. I’ve come to truly value the essence of art and craft that defines Loewe, and I’m excited to continue this meaningful journey as brand ambassador," he said.

Tay is a Cancer

Tawan Vihokratana was born on July 20, 1991 in Bangkok, Thailand. Parts of his childhood was spent in the northern province of Chiang Mai and the central city of Saraburi.

Tay holds an economics degree

Tay attended high school at the Suankularb Wittayalai School. He initially pursued a degree in chemistry from the Faculty of Science at Chulalongkorn University, before he ultimately decided to shift to economics. He graduated from the school in 2015.

Tay began his career as a variety show host in 2014

Tay entered the world of show business as one of the hosts of Five Live Fresh, a youth-oriented music variety show. He then became one of the pioneering talents of entertainment company GMMTV, where he found his start as an actor in series. Some of his early work includes roles in Room Alone 401-410 (2014), Ugly Duckling: Dont (2015), and Secret Seven (2017).

Tay rose to fame alongside fellow actor New Thitipoom

Tay's claim to fame proved to be his role as Pete in Kiss Me Again (2018) and Dark Blue Kiss (2019), where he played romantic interests with fellow actor New Thitipoom. Their "boy's love" partnership extended to other titles such as Im Tee, Me Too (2020), the Thai adaptation of Cherry Magic (2023), and the upcoming A Dog and a Plane.

Tay has been with Loewe since 2024

Tay's promotion to Loewe ambassador was a peak in his relationship with the brand. He was first named as Friend of the House last April 30, 2024. Between then and now, he's attended several of Loewe's activations, including their Paris Fashion Week shows and multi-national exhibits. His new title sees him growing with Loewe's growing roster of Thai ambassadors, which also includes Phuwin Tangsakyuen and Baifern Pimchanok.
