Perfect Crown is scoring record-breaking numbers ahead of its finale. The Korean show has reportedly garnered more than 43 million hours viewed globally across Walt Disney Company’s streaming platforms, Disney+ and Hulu.
"Perfect Crown" Is the Top K-Drama on Disney+ and Hulu
The IU and Byeon Woo Seok starrer has seen excellent numbers since its debut. According to the streamer, Perfect Crown became the “most globally traveled Korean premiere on Disney+” based on views within 28 days of its release.
In fact, even without APAC numbers, Perfect Crown continues to dominate the charts internationally as the number one K-drama in territories like the U.S., Canada, United Kingdom, Italy, Spain, Germany, Brazil, Argentina, and Mexico. Unsurprisingly, it’s also the leading drama series in more Hallyu-influenced countries like the Philippines, Malaysia, Singapore, and Japan.
These impressive results come from the steady growth of viewership the show has accrued with each episode. By the time episode eight came out, Perfect Crown recorded a 43% increase in views compared to its premiere.

The show is set in a fictional Korea ruled by a constitutional monarchy. As the brother of the late king, Grand Prince I-an acts as regent to his eight-year-old nephew until he comes of age. With growing pressure to prove he’s not after the throne, I-an enters into a contract marriage with Seong Hui-ju, a brazen chaebol heiress with her own ambitions. When the pair’s arranged union blossoms into something real, they must weather through the protests of the royal family and the rest of the Korean public.
From its creative team alone, it seems the show was destined to succeed from the start. Apart from its award-winning lead stars, Perfect Crown is directed by Park Joon Hwa, the name behind other global Korean hit shows like What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim and Alchemy of Souls.

Jam’s way of exploration is by reading and writing. She hopes to always be lost in words and, occasionally, a good podcast.
