While out at a mall, the couple encountered a rather deep puddle and were unsure how to cross it. In Bisaya, Paul Jake asked Kaye, “O, unsaon man na nimo (So, how are you going to cross that?)” to which she responded, “Lawm kaayo. Unsaon na lang (It’s too deep. What am I supposed to do?).”
The 41-year-old actor then asked her to get on his back to avoid getting her feet—and her designer sandals—wet. “Yawa!” Paul Jake uttered, a playful Bisaya expression often used to show mild frustration.
“Kaduha na ni para sa tsinelas. Paita sa bagyo (This is the second time I’ve had to do this because of those slippers. This storm is such a hassle),” he joked, as Kaye smiled widely in gratitude behind him.
Netizens were amused by the husband-and-wife duo, with many pointing out their shared determination to keep Kaye’s Hermès shoes from getting soaked in rainwater. LOL!

Many commended Paul Jake for willingly letting Kaye ride on his back, even if he unconsciously had to let out a "Yawa!" Their fellow Bisaya folk certainly caught the cute remark!
"Mahal tsinelas pero mas mahal si Kaye," one netizen put it. Aww!

The Exact Hermes Sandals Kaye Abad Wore
In case you’re curious why Paul Jake was so insistent on keeping Kaye’s footwear dry (and for the second time, apparently), it may come down to the price tag. The actress was wearing Hermès Chypre sandals, which retail for approximately P68,000.
While the soles are made of rubber and can withstand light puddles, the upper straps are crafted from calfskin leather, which doesn’t age well when exposed to water. That said, the sandals remain quite durable and are suited for light strolls around the mall, even in unpredictable weather.
