Park Eun Bin is back on our TV screens. This time, she’s powering up as Eun Chae-ni, a hot-tempered, terminally ill woman who unexpectedly gains super powers at the height of an apocalypse scare. With her newfound abilities, she, along with a group of town misfits, must protect their home from a band of villains threatening to destroy the city’s peace.
This is the actress’s third drama since she launched to global recognition after playing a lawyer with autism in Extraordinary Attorney Woo. That said, she still credits her role in the award-winning series for giving her a boost of confidence as an actress.
Park Eun Bin on How She Became Confident Memorizing Dialogue for “The WONDERfools”
In a recent interview with Netflix Korea, Eun Bin jokingly admitted to feeling like her “brain hasn’t recovered yet” from memorizing her lines in Extraordinary Attorney Woo. The actress recalled having to learn 6 to 7 full pages worth of lines every episode in a short span of time. Some scenes were as long as 15 to 20 pages, fully pushing Eun Bin to her limit. “I could barely keep up with the next day’s scenes,” she added.
Prior to Extraordinary Attorney Woo, Eun Bin shared that she rarely made mistakes during filming. But with the amount of dialogue given to her in the drama, she eventually resigned herself to flubbing up a take here and there. “It was so many lines that when I made mistakes, I was like, ‘Well that happens’,” she said. “But looking back now, there were so many moments where I wonder how I managed to do it.”
While challenging, the experience ultimately strengthened Eun Bin’s acting skills, which she now employs in her new projects. She elaborated, “The upside is now I feel more confident that I can learn this many lines.”

Eun Bin also revealed that she used to have a photographic memory when she was younger. As a child actress, she could think about a script and immediately see it in her head. “During exams, I would think 'That was on this page, in this paragraph’,” she illustrated for the hosts. “I could visualize it.” Eun Bin says she relied on this skill a lot until a “memory lapse” one day caused her to lose it.
“Suddenly there was nothing there. So when I lost it, I was shocked at myself.” Then again, her continued acting career is proof Eun Bin has since gone a long way with just her own hard work and determination.
As of writing, The WONDERfools is number four on Netflix. It also stars Cha Eun Woo, Choi Dae Hoon, and Im Seong Jae, and all of its eight episodes can now be streamed on the platform.

Jam’s way of exploration is by reading and writing. She hopes to always be lost in words and, occasionally, a good podcast.
